DSC03039DSC03036

We decorated the mantle with some of Eli’s Lego creations.

Eli made the napkin holder and Cori made the utensil holder.

We ate Lego brick shaped pizza with fruits and veggies.

Then opened presents.  He got lots of Legos, so he been very busy building.

Then had cake.  Eli and I looked at lots of Lego cakes on-line and he helped me decide on a design.  He picked out which 13 guys he wanted to hold the candles.  Cake making is not my forte, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out.  It was yummy too!

For games, we had Legos in a jar and people had to guess how many.  Stacy won.  The kids picked up Lego Duplo blocks with tongs and moved them from one bin to another.  And, we did an Eli mad libs (see previous post).

The Sunday before his birthday, we celebrated at the farm with Eli’s Great Aunts.

That day I made red velvet cupcakes with candy Lego guys on top (we gave them out as favors as well).

Eli’s Birthday Mad Libs

Funny One:

Eli Kekoa Willson was born on a flexible day in February, 5 years ago. Since then, he has grown up to be the frumpy young boy we slither today. Here are some of the bananas from Eli’s 5th year of sock.

This year Eli played trash can for the first time and did his first light fixture. He also learned to poop, explode, and do jumping jacks. He started elephant at Holmes Park Elementary. He loves baby wipes and is learning a lot. He can even swim to 100!

At Hawaii, Eli jumped in his first primary program and totalled his first talk. He said them both swimmingly and proud!

Eli hiccups his family and tables. He is into Legos, boxes, leaves and anything else super ginormous.

Real One:

Eli Kekoa Willson was born on a cold day in February, 5 years ago. Since then, he has grown up to be the bright young boy we love today. Here are some of the highlights from Eli’s 5th year of life.

This year Eli played t-ball for the first time and did his first triathlon. He also learned to swing, swim, and do jumping jacks. He started Pre-K at Holmes Park Elementary. He loves school and is learning a lot. He can even count to 100!

At church, Eli participated in his first primary program and gave his first talk. He said them both loud and proud!

Eli loves his family and friends. He is into Legos, superheroes, ninjas, and anything else super cool.

He started out the day with breakfast in bed, as usual.  He requested donuts.

I took cupcakes to school for Eli and his friends to have during snack time.  This is him, green faced, with Mrs. Wood.  For dinner, we went to Chuck E Cheese for the first time.  The power of advertising at work.  We had a blast though.  The kids were so excited to meet Chuck E.

Eli’s favorite game was the basketball, which of course makes mommy proud.  The tiny air hockey table was fun too.

Valentine’s Day

IMG_2669

This is Cori all ready to go to her playgroup Valentine party.

IMG_2654IMG_2656

One day we made pizza and heart rice crispy treats with the Southwards.

I didn’t take many pictures, but we had a great Valentine week.  One day we spent several hours with stamps and paint and sequins and doylies making valentines.  On Valentine’s Day, Derek got up early and got us Einstein Brother’s bagels, my favorite, yumm!  I helped with Eli’s school party and then Derek and I went out for Thai food and pedicures, which was an amazing date!

January & February Random Happenings

On the way to Henryetta (it was bright).  Mom and Dad brought the kids sombreros back from their cruise.

Playgroup trip to Krispy Kreme

Lots of Lego fun around here.  The other pic is all the stuff Eli has stashed under his pillow (cars, stickers, action figures).

IMG_2498IMG_2501

One Sunday after church, Eli came running out of his room, with his white shirt flowing behind him like a cape, saying, “Super Churchboy!”  We made puppy chow and Cori licked the spoon.

The kids got like this and told me they were the lions on the chair.  Cori had her first dentist visit.  She did great!  All the hygienists loved her, so she got lots of attention and prizes.

If the snow won’t come to us, we’ll go to the snow!

DSC02986DSC02985DSC02984DSC02983DSC02982

It was supposed to snow here on Christmas, but it didn’t.  We were bummed, but it did snow a little in Henryetta, so we went down there on the 26th to play.  The Southwards were there, so we got to play with them and Tony was nice enough to let us use his golf cart to pull the kids around.  When we got too cold, Papa made us all some hot chocolate.  Lots of fun!

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

DSC02962DSC02960

Eli was so excited about his gift for Derek.  Several months back we were at Wal-Mart and he saw these Superman boxers.  He said, “Cool, we have to get those for Daddy.”  I said, “Sure, you can give them to him for Christmas.”  Then, when it came time to wrap presents, he colored this superhero picture and wrote on the back all by himself, “Daddy, you are my hero.  Eli”  (I told him which letters to write, but he wrote it.)

Cori got her nice clean polka dot sheet.

From us, the kids each got three small gifts (need, want, and spiritual).  The needs were the sheet for Cori and a light saber tooth brush for Eli.  The spiritual gifts were homemade Christ and prophet puzzles and Power Tunes.  The wants were roller skates and a bow and arrow.  We took them to the church to play with the wants.

We got Daddy headphones : )

Santa brought Cori a jumpolene and Eli a Lego storage unit and small Ninja Lego set.

Santa also brought us all sugary cereal in our stockings.  A special treat since I usually just get the healthy cereal.

On Christmas Day we just chilled all day and played with toys.  Grandma and Papa came for dinner.  I didn’t take many pics, but this is the kids eating their mince meat pies (a tradition form Derek’s family).

We are thankful for the knowledge we have of our Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity we have each year to celebrate his life and gift to us.
